About me

Compass Reflections started with a simple realization: many people want to preserve their stories and the lessons they’ve earned over a lifetime, but a blank page can feel surprisingly intimidating. I created Compass Reflections to make getting started easier, with warm guidance and a clear, steady path you can follow at your own pace.

I am Dr. Graham Stefan Ignizio, a professor and the Associate Chair of the Department of World Languages at Metropolitan State University of Denver. I earned my Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and my work has long centered on how adults learn through language, reflection, and storytelling. Across years of teaching, research, and curriculum design, I’ve seen how the right structure can turn a big, emotional project into something doable and even enjoyable.

Compass Reflections brings that educator’s approach to life-story and memoir writing: simple instructions, thoughtfully sequenced prompts, and a beautiful, paper-first format that feels calm and private. My goal is to help you begin, keep going, and finish with something meaningful you’ll be proud to hold and share, if and when you choose.
